In this teen and adult program for the month of November, we will take a guided walk on one of our trails at the BNC and discuss the types of flora one can keep on one’s property to help birds eat well into the winter months as seeds and insects will no longer be available. We will then discuss what types of bird feeders are most useful to the winter birds that stay here in CT.
Jessica Maak came to be a volunteer for ELCCT through her own personal interest in environmental education, sustainability, preservation, and the overall joy it gives her to be involved in outreach programs in general. Jessica has worked for DEEP at Sleeping Giant State Forest, Nature’s Classroom, and The National Audubon Society at Bent of the River, and is currently a preschool teacher.
