Harry C. Barnes Memorial Nature Center
175 Shrub Rd., Bristol, CT, 06010
Carol Jaspersohn was born and raised in London, England. Her interest in art began as a young child, and she started painting when she was a young girl. She met Tom, her future husband, in London while he was stationed oversees in the U.S. Air Force.
Carol and Tom married and had three children. Shortly after their third child was born, the family moved to Tom’s hometown of Branford, Connecticut, and eventually settled in Bristol, where they raised their children. Although Carol was busy with the children and their activities, she always made time for her creative endeavors, including renovating their old Colonial house, while continuing to paint. After a series of losses in her life, Carol returned to her passion of painting and has become a prolific daily painter. She finds painting to be therapeutic and it provides her a sense of peace.
Carol lives in Bristol with her three dogs, and the beauty of the natural setting that surrounds her have inspired her artwork. In recent years, she has been expanding her painting style to depict colorful and awe-inspiring scenery. Carol works entirely in acrylics, which she finds well-suited to her spontaneity, and she hopes that you will enjoy viewing her paintings.
Carol’s artwork will continue to be on exhibit from May 31-June 30 at Barnes Nature Center.
