Indian Rock Nature Preserve
501 Wolcott Rd., Bristol, CT
Join ELCCT Naturalists and Laurie Fortin, Wildlife Biologist with the Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection, for a trek into the forest of Indian Rock Nature Preserve in search of owls.
Our experts will responsibly play recorded calls of some of our local owl species to see if we can elicit a response. Before heading out, you will meet a live Barred Owl, 2 Screech Owls to discuss the unique adaptations that these nocturnal birds use to survive at night.
Be sure to dress for the cold weather including hats, gloves, warm socks! Bring a flashlight or headlamp. The sighting or hearing of a wild owl cannot be guaranteed.
Pre-registration and wearing a facemask is required.
Call to register as space is limited: 860-583-1234.
