Join Environmental Learning Centers of CT as a 2021-22 TerraCorps Member serving as a Land Stewardship Coordinator

This year we are looking for one TerraCorps Member to join the Environmental Learning Centers of CT team! As a Member, you will be part of the 2021-2022 TerraCorps program and join up to 80 other members serving with nonprofit partner organizations across Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. As a TerraCorps member serving with ELCCT, your focus will be to assist with the construction of a new mile-long Universally Accessible Nature Trail at the Harry C. Barnes Memorial Nature Center, take a leadership role in the design of education material related to the trail and coordinate outreach efforts to draw attention to the trail project. General Information about TerraCorps

Members of TerraCorps serve in full-time (38 hour/week) position from August 30th, 2021- July 29th, 2022. These 1,700-hour AmeriCorps positions receive a living allowance and are eligible for health insurance coverage, childcare assistance, education award, federal loan forbearance, and additional AmeriCorps benefits. Join TerraCorps (AmeriCorps) to serve local communities and gain valuable professional experience!

TerraCorps is an innovative national service program that prepares and mobilizes emerging leaders to help communities conserve and secure land for the health and well-being of people and nature. We do this by supporting AmeriCorps Members who serve with nonprofit organizations across Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut to tackle issues around land access, urban agriculture, and conservation.  This year we are looking for up to 80 Members to join the TerraCorps team!

As a Member you will serve with one of our nonprofit partners, in one of five coordinator positions: Community Engagement Coordinator, Youth Education Coordinator, Land Stewardship Coordinator, Regional Collaboration Coordinator, or Sustainable Agriculture Coordinator. Members will carry out capacity building projects; educate or train individuals; recruit, train, manage, and support community volunteers engaged in land-based activities; and identify new individuals and groups to participate in education, recreation, or service opportunities centered around land access and conservation.
