A little more about us.

Environmental Learning Centers of Connecticut is based in Bristol, Connecticut. Since our founding in 1969, ELCCT has offered a diversity of hands-on experiential nature programs, using a variety of resources and facilities to schools and groups, families, and the public at the Indian Rock Nature Preserve and Harry C. Barnes Memorial Nature Center.

The Harry C. Barnes Memorial Nature Center, located at 175 Shrub Road in Bristol, is your avenue to nature experiences on 132 acres, including the neighboring Pigeon Hill Preserve property, which is home to over 5 miles of trails through woodlands, wetlands, and wildflower fields. The BNC is Bristol’s only community nature center.

Over 20,000 people, from all around Connecticut, utilize our nature preserves annually. 4,000 of these adults and children will go on to enjoy our special event fundraisers such as the Fall Family Festival, Spring Fair, and Santa’s Walking Wonderland. 1,200 children entering grades Kindergarten through 12th will attend the highly regarded Indian Rock Summer Camp each summer. Help us continue to build our legacy by donating today!
