Nature Awareness Family Program
$5 member/$10 non-member
Open to all ages (all children must be accompanied by a paying adult)
This beginner Nature Awareness Workshop introduces participants to the core practices of deep nature connection. Through simple, experiential exercises, students learn to slow down, become fully present, and sharpen their natural ability to observe the landscape through sight, sound, and intuition.
Participants will practice focused listening, wide-angle vision, and pattern recognition while exploring how to notice movement, changes, and subtle details often overlooked in
the outdoors. A key component of the workshop is the Sit Spot practice—learning how to choose a location, remain still, and build a personal routine that deepens awareness and connection over time.
This workshop is ideal for beginners, wilderness students, educators, and anyone seeking a stronger relationship with the natural world. Instruction is calm, experiential, and rooted in curiosity, emphasizing awareness as the foundation for all outdoor and wilderness skills.
